About SBMSA Baseball
SBMSA’s Baseball program consists of a spring season that runs from late February until just prior to the end of the school year; a short summer program; and tournament-level baseball opportunities during the spring.
Our baseball fields are graduated in size so that every two years the boys move to slightly larger fields with greater pitching distances. Rookie and Midget games are played on four-field lighted complexes at the SBISD Guthrie Center (10660 Hammerly) and Pine Shadows Elementary School (9810 Neuens). Lighted Pee Wee and Bronco fields are located at Memorial Middle School (870 Attingham), Spring Forest Middle School (14240 Memorial), and Spring Woods Middle School (9810 Nuens) while Pony games are played at the Spring Branch Education Center (2100 Shadowdale Drive).
Age Divisions
Our teams compete in as many divisions as the number of teams require, with playoffs at the end of the Spring season. In the Rookie and Midget league, players are assigned to teams, with team formation typically following elementary school attendance zones, to the extent possible. Teams in the Pee Wee, Bronco and Pony leagues are formed by draft following skills evaluation. Players in the Pee Wee league are divided into leagues for players with greater skills (American League) and leagues for those with developing skills and/or less experience (National League). The Bronco leagues are divided into Draft and Tournament divisions.
Our program draws players from throughout the SBISD geographical area.

Some schools that may not have enough players to form a team and will be combined with players from other school(s) to form a team. Our goal is to have mixed ages on each team to preserve the integrity of balanced teams. Teams in Pee Wee and Bronco leagues are formed by a coach’s draft following a skills assessment to ensure competitive teams.
During skills assessments, players will demonstrate their baseball ability based on pre-defined categories defined by the league commissioner (i.e., throwing, fielding and hitting).
Skills assessment dates can be found on our Baseball Calendar. After registration closes, the league commissioner for your child’s age group will follow-up with more details.
You will have a chance to volunteer during the registration process. We are a volunteer-powered organization. The League’s success depends upon its volunteers.
